“Light Metal Age” echoes the world’s largest rotary tilting furnace, manufactured by GHI

The international press coverage of our latest rotary melting furnace, a world record in size and melting capacity, continues. This time it has been the prestigious American publication “LIGHT METAL AGE”, who has published an extensive report on our furnace, which has been previously published by the English magazine “ALUMINIUM INTERNATIONAL TODAY” and by the German publication of CECOF, “HEAT PROCESSING”.

Light Metal Age, like the other magazines, highlights in its article that GHI’s furnace not only increases the production capacity of Befesa’s recycling plant in Asúa (Spain), but it also reduces  significantly the salt consumption and improves energy efficiency in relation with the furnace that it replaces.

Also, is noteworthy the excellent geometry of this giant furnace, which greatly facilitates the processes of emptying and cleaning the slag. Another novel detail that is highlighted is the double door system, which allows the loading of the furnace while it is in operation, reducing heat losses.

The advantages of sensorization and the Beyond 4.0 platform used by GHI in this equipment are extensively explained, which allows receiving real-time information

of the furnace and which results in improvement suggestions, which promote the maintenance of the furnace for its optimum operation.
