GHI at Inspira STEAM

The social responsibility project Inspira STEAM, aims to facilitate new female technologists references nearby, promote professions related to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) and understand that they are not conditioned on the gender of each person.

It is an inspiring project organized by the University of Deusto in which the professional women of the fields of research, science and technology give talks to elementary students to promote the scientific-technological vocation among girls.

Ainhoa Ochoa, GHI’s Industry 4.0 Engineer, has been one of the mentors of this fourth edition. For 6 sessions she has worked personally with the primary school children of Karmengo Ama Ikastetxea de Amorebieta, using the technique of “group mentoring”. “It is important to give visibility to the women of the past and to those who today work in engineering companies such as GHI, where both men and women are equally capable of providing solutions regardless of the gender. We need to give tools to the young girls, so that they can identify an stereotype and freely decide their profession”.

At GHI, we are conscious that it is important to support scientific and technological vocations among the youngest, especially among girls, and that is the reason of joining this awareness project. Internally, we have been betting on equality for years, so we hope to continue recruiting the valuable female talent in our company.

See you in the next calls!
