FURNACES FOR SLABS ECG TYPE

They are used for the preheating of slabs before they pass through the rolling mill. They are semi-continuous furnaces in which the slabs individually placed on sliding shoes along metallic rails, are pushed through the furnace by means of an hydraulic pusher device. The high temperature precision required is obtained by means of the circulation of the inside furnace atmosphere at high speed driven by high flow fans. It is usual that several furnaces in battery consecutively feed the rolling mil. The operation is fully automatic and the system of load preparation is common for all furnaces. These furnaces can be designed to perform homogenising treatments.
